Joey Fatone???

I was at the park yesterday and one of the moms there with her kids came up and told me I looked like Joey Fatone. I had no idea who he was and told her so. So she updated me on the fact that he was the host of a TV show on NBC called "The Singing Bee" and used to be in 'N Sync or however you spell it.

That still meant nothing to me (other than I was glad I didn't recognize the name as someone who dated Brittney Spears or something) so last night I looked him up. Now I don't know whether Joey should be insulted by being compared to me who is probably 10 years older than him and 50 pounds heavier. Or if I should, for being associated with 'N Sync in any fashion!

Do I look ANYTHING like this guy???

You can delete this latter, but i wanted to give you a better answer.

You can contribue money to a roth and later withdraw part of it to pay higher education expenses.

But i think that amount is limited to 10k, and when you withdraw it while you don't have to pay a penalty you do have to include it in income.

So for example if you put 5000 in and now and you have 10000 in a few years, you could withdraw that amount and pay higher education expenses (I think). If you can you would then have to claim 10000 more in ordinary income assuming you're in the 25% tax bracket, that is 2500. So your back to 7500. Also you do not get a current deduction for roth contributions.

A 529 plan, may get you a current deduction on your state return, I am not familar with North Carlina's rules but many states give you a state deduction. If you contribute to that states plan.

Earnings accumulate tax free and when you with draw them for higher education expenses they escape taxation (I think).

Off the top of my head the only way a roth contribution would make sense is if you are thinking that the boy and the girl are more likely to end up in the clink than in college. If you contribute to a 529, the amounts must be spend by time the beneficiary reaches 30, than they must be withdrawn. And you pay tax, and i think a penalty.

In i would say 98 percent of situations a 529 makes more sense.

Yep... you and Joey were separated at birth. Don't try to tell me different. Question is, can you dance like him???

Yes, you look alike.

Not exactly, but similar.

Thanks for stopping by, neighbor.

Mmm.. There are some similarities... You're both white. You both have facial hair. You both have dark hair. To fans of that "Dancing W/The Stars" show, you would be considered separated at birth. You do look similar.

Hell, I thought that you were just blogging under an assumed name.....w-a-i-t a damn minute, you ARE blogging under an assumed name.

Did you used to be one of those panty-wearing booty boys in that boy band with the flouncer from Clinton, Mississippi and the other poofter that used to date that skank girl from Louisiana?
